When we celebrate Christmas we can not and must not forget those who
live in fear, will be homeless, hungry, and still in 2016 don’t have clean water.
The Methodist Church has a relief fund now called All We Can, it used to have the title The Methodist relief and Development Fund. As part of their Christmas appeal they have brought out a catalogue of gifts such ‘Busy bees’ when £10 buys half the materials needed for a family in Ethiopia to set up a bee hive, the family fund the other half. With training the family can produce not only a healthy supply for the family but can have a sustainable year round source of income. The catalogues will be on the porch table.
Please think, do our friends really need yet another Christmas gift OR would they like to think they have shared this special time with someone who is certainly less fortunate than we are.
