Functions for Fun & Fellowship Programme 2019-2020

Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass: Saturday October 12th at 7.30pm
Craig on Cornet & occasionally Post Horn: Joanna on Flugel Horn: Mark on French Horn: Tony on Trombone; and Tim on Tuba. Craig says: We’ve all
played in Brass Bands in the past – at the top level [My last big band was Brighouse and Rastrick] and some of the team have played on the professional and orchestral circuit too. Our concerts aim to span a full musical range with a little bit of traditional brass stuff, but lots of other things like Jazz, swing, classical, and some clever arrangements of very modern tunes.

We also do some big pieces, the kind of thing you wouldn’t expect 5 players to be able to pull off. We all feature as soloists and have some interesting audience engagement points. The first half tends to be more serious but the second half gets lighter as the audience warms up. The whole idea is to be entertaining, play music to a really high standard, and surprise folks with what 5 brass players can do.

Harrogate Theatre Choir: Saturday November 9th at 7.30pm
